PULSE (IMPULSE) NY
Presented artists: Thea Gvetadze, Maia Naveriani, Beso Uznadze
At Home With Good Ideas is a curated booth for PULSE (IMPULSE) NY 2015 that took place during March 5 – 8 at Metropolitan Pavilion, NY. The booth represented artists: Thea Gvetadze, Maia Naveriani and Beso Uznadze.
The artists belong to different art-scenes of the world. Maia Naveriani and Beso Uznadze work between London, UK and Tbilisi, Georgia, whereas Thea Gvetadze lives and works between Berlin, Germany and Tbilisi, Georgia. Gvetadze is represented by Galerie Rupert Pfab, Dusseldorf, Germany and Gallery Nectar, Tbilisi, Georgia; Naveriani is represented by Galerie Voss, Dusseldorf, Germany; Uznadze is represented by www.projectartbeat.com.
The works for the exhibition were selected upon a theme, such as of domesticity, subjectivity and creation of subjectivity within the domestic realm. Considering the fact that two out of three artists are female, the booth did imply a strong feminine aspect.
The booth not only represented artists of different scenes, artistic approaches and fields of interest, but also created an interesting juxtaposition of different mediums. These are color pencil on paper by Maia Naveriani, ceramics and mixed media by Thea Gvetadze and Beso Uznadze’s digital print. Colors, shapes and subject matter often echoing within the three different walls of the booth, having no direct relationship to one another created an interesting conversation at the site.
