Chubika - The Echoes 2 / Artisterium 8

2, Al. Tvalchrelidze str., Tbilisi, Georgia

In the frameworks of 'Artisterium', Project ArtBeat will be presenting Echoes 2 at it's Moving Gallery, an exhibition by Nino Chubinishvili aka Chubika. The artist continues working on her series of Echoes and offers the viewer a journey in the flow of thought through her abstract works and visual signs. The first works from the series have been exhibited in New York at Art in General since September 2015 and can still be viewed.

Echoes 2 will be on view at the Moving Gallery for one week. The artworks from the exhibition will after be present at Project ArtBeat online gallery, www.projectartbeat.com.

Chubika (born in 1969) lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. She has worked with such fashion houses as KENZO and Pierre Cardin. After graduating from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in the field of stage and costume design, Chubika has received different awards for costume design several times. In 2005-2006 the artist continued studying in Paris, at Institute Francais de la Mode. Chubika is as much part of the fashion world as she is part of the Georgian contemporary art scene. In 1990s she was a member of informal multimedia artistic group - GosLab.

Chubika’s installations and art objects have been exhibited since 1990. In 2015 her exhibition-installation The Echoes opened at Art in General, New York. In 2014 the artist collaborated with Julie Nioche and took part in the Avygnon Dance Festival. The same year she participated in the exhibition RE:Museum at the Georgian National Gallery, Tbilisi. In 2013 Chubika had two solo projects, one at Writer's House Georgia and another at Artarea. In 2008 her objects were shown at Artisterium.

Project is sponsored by East Point.
