Nanuka Zaalishvili - Soviet Bus Stops in Georgia

Fabrika, 8 Egnate Ninoshvili Street,Tbilisi, Georgia

Project ArtBeat and Kolga Tbilisi Photo 2018 presents Nanuka Zaalishvili’s solo exhibition Soviet Bus Stops in Georgia.

"My "hunting" for Soviet Bus Stops started in 2015 and covered all regions of Georgia with soviet bus routes. These small architectural forms represent the vision and style of Georgian architects, designers and artists working in the Soviet Union. They are some of the most important heritage of Georgian architecture from the Soviet era.

Today some of the Bus Stops are preserved so that they only need a little restoration, and some of them will disappear soon and forever. It is important to reconsider them and to integrate into use today, especially when such forms, compositions and diversity can be the source of new inspiration." - Nanuka Zaalishvili.

Nanuka Zaalishvili - (B. 1988) Master of Architecture. Founder of online magazine IDAAF and Architectural Studio - IDAAF Architects. Participant and winner of various international architectural competitions and workshops. Among them workshops at Zaha Hadid Architects, Arup Associates, Amin Taha Architects, Architectural Review Magazine, Easa (European Architects Student Assembly) and etc.

The project is realized in the framework of  Kolga Tbilisi Photo 2018.

The project is supported by Tbilisi City Hall.
